Telescopic Aerial Lift Devices:![]() Telescopic Aerial Lift Telescopic insulated aerial lift devices are often referred to as squirt booms. The telescopic lift devices are generally used by the telecommunications industry because this service is generally at a lower altitude on the utility poles. The lift height capacity of telescopic insulated man lift device is usually less than the articulated aerial lift devices. The telescopic insulated aerial lift device sits on a truck chassis. It has a pedestal platform, or turret, to which the lower boom is attached. The upper boom section or sections slides within the attached section to create a telescopic elevation. The bucket is mounted on the end of the last boom section. The operator controls are located adjacent to the bucket. Telescopic aerial lift devices may have insulated booms. However, they are usually smaller than articulated aerial devices and have more limited use. Telescopic lifts are usually equipped with a single bucket. |
